Sometimes I feel Yes. Basically it is exam oriented, it should be application oriented. What you learn must have a application else one feels it is boring.

It isn't the education system but the population that is putting too much strain on students. There are too many people competing for too few jobs. So, obviously, preference is given to those who can get the most out of limited resources.
In other words, a student who can understand everything and demonstrate his knowledge perfectly despite having horrible teachers and extremely high academic standards and a heavy course-load, is the most desirable, as a potential employee.

Well, in a classroom where there are 60/80 students per class imparting 'depth' in subject matter is next to impossible. What then can replace this 'depth'? Breadth! We may be aware about 1000's of theories related to the subject. But how many theories are learnt such that we could apply them to solve problems? Take hint from how much of 'strain' students experience!

i dont think indian education system puts too much strain, but instead the students misinterpret it the way they seem. Any student would feel he is being burdened.
It's just human psycology....if u ask me....i would say all are being taught the same thing....but only thing, in different ways.

I don't know for what purpose we are educating ourselves. Nowadays the main purpose is money making only. Not to improve our wisdom. The students were pressurized in two angles. One the heavy syllabus, making it dry & not interesting.
The parents on the other hand from the Pre KG itself the torture the Children. They want each and every one to be professionals.
In General, the system of education must be life oriented. Education is joy. Let them enjoy
