20x to the power of 6 over 5y to the power of 9 divided by 16x to the power of 2 over 10 y to the power of 5. I'm trying to solve this problem ever since I got home from school and the answer I keep on getting does not match up with the answer on the back of my textbook. I'm so frustrated

My little brother has a hard time reading, but if he flip's the book he read's just as good as you and me. It's just upside down, how and where can I find out about this. Is there anything that would fix it. he don't like to read because it hard rightside up to him. I would like to help him with this, but I don't know where to start.

I have had a TI-83 plus for about two years now. Well today I turned mine on for a test and there was just a line going through the middle of the screen horizontally. It's a solid line. When I turn it on the screen is black for a split second then just a solid line. When I press (second, then off) the line goes away. Is there some sort of a reset button or something? Any ideas would be MUCH appreciated.

I have trouble staying focused on studying once I begin. (As you can see by my writing oh this question, haha) I look away from my task every couple minutes and I can't seem to keep my mind on one thing, or I can't keep reading what i'm supposed to be reading. I feel that this is something I can fix myself, and that it is NOT something a tutor could help me with. I just need motivation. Any suggestions?

I understand that historically in the summer people would need children to work on farms or around the house when we were a more agraiarn society. But in todays modern role what is 1 good reason for not having year round classes? I mean there can be a 3 week summer break like there is around the end of december, i'm not a monster. But american students are in school less days and less hours per day than all other modern nations.

I am a student myself currently (college) and i atttend summer school, so saying people need a break to rest their minds is junk, adults dont need more than 2 weeks off a year from work, is there some fundamental change that happens when one graduates and enters the workforce where we can now handle a year round schedule

Plus with all the extra class days, they dont have to be 100% devoted to the pillars of what we call education (reading. writing, mathmatics and sciences).

Not to mention teachers would have a bump in pay as well. So give me one excuse

I have a serious problem on my GPA. I'm a junior in high school and right now my GPA is 2.6. I want to attend an UC school and I know its a long shot. I been studying the SAT for a long time and taking the test on May hoping reaching higher than 1800. I didn't do much extra activity for school but I'm in a track team. Is there still a chance or a maybe a little can i go to UC?

I am just an average student with a 3.4-3.5 GPA. I will be graduating in May, and will be taking a year off. I know that the best time to take the LSATs is December 07, so I can enter law school in Fall 08.

Do you guys think that 9 months is enough time to study for LSATs? I can devote up to one hour each day for the 9 months on average.

I am also planning on taking a Princeton Review course. This, along with my philosophy major, I feel should prepare me for the LSATs.

Also, which course do you guys think is better? LSATs, Kaplan or a different kind?

I'm smart. Everyone tells me I am. Everyone says I'm capable of getting straight A's and I believe I have it in me. But I can't do my homework. I sit down and try to do it and all I end up doing is drawing and writing all over the back of the paper, and I think "It's okay, I'll work tomorrow." But I don't. I never do. I'm afraid I'm going to get held back if I don't take action and no matter how hard I try I still end up with nothing done and I really want to work.

Most of my friends that are in 11th grade and taking English 3 Honors, American History, Chemistry Honors, and Algebra 2 Honors told me that next year they are only going to take English 4 Honors and American Gov't/Economics Honors while the rest are just easy regular electives. I'm going to take 5 honors, 1 or 2 AP and 1 regular elective but they said that I exaggerate too much and I should just chill in my senior year. They make a good point but I don't want to be a slacker in my last year of high school. What should I do?

so there's that whole too poor to shell out 40gs, too rich to get a lot of financial aid. i'm applying for merit scholarships, but basically i think i'm looking at at least 20k total for undergrad if i go to a private college. my interests are political science, french, english. i'd like to be a scholar, politician, writer or something cool wehn i grow up.
it's very important to me to have access to professors, an engaged ommunity of learners and enthusiastic people.
i also want to go to grad school, for what i'm not sure, probably public policy or politics.

Based on the contract between our office and yours, the post of Project Administrator does not *exist* in the budget item. Based on that fact, we have to make modifications to the budget (without having to change the overall ceiling amount). Based on this modification, the ABC has sent a new budget structure with the post Project Administrator being listed in the budget item. He is currently living in Vancouver, where crowded with Chinese, and looking for a new place in Canada where he can find almost no Chinese. So he could have a better condition to learn English. It would be better if it is not too far from BC.
