My little brother has a hard time reading, but if he flip's the book he read's just as good as you and me. It's just upside down, how are where can I find out about this. Is there anything that would fix it. he don't like to read because it hard rightside up to him. I would like to help him with this, but I don't know where to start.

You may want to have the school evaluate him. There are forms of autism where children have been found to read better (and recognize images) better upside down than right side up. I heard about this last semester in a class I was interpreting. I tried to find a little information on the web quickly and that's just what I found, a little info.

In the meanwhile, if it's easier for him, let him read upside down.

You don't say how old he is, but this might be my guess...

He's a pre-reader himself (age 3 to 5).

Many kids that age memorize books - both my sons had just heard the stories so many times they would seem like they were reading it, when really it was open to the page and they were repeating what they had heard so many times (it's spooky, but they are just repeating).

You read in front of him, so he's used to seeing that book upside down.

My guess is he's not reading - he's repeating - and because he's used to seeing the book upside down, that's the only way he can do it.

If so, either try having him next to you when you read, or hold the book up so he can see.

Did your brother ever have a concussion or head injury? Ask mom , even if he hit his head hard and didn't pass out he could have had a brain Injury..Kids skulls are pretty pliable for awhile..Anyway Google The Brain Injury association Of America ....They yould be able to direct you to your state Brain Injury Association......

Either way contact a neurologist for info.....If he is slow to learn, ADD, ADHD, let the doc know .
I hope he's ok ......

he has difficulty reading regularly but reads with ease upside down?

i'd recommend having him tested for learning differences as well as having his vision tested.

sounds strange but doesn't mean there's a problem.

where to start: contact the peditrican and the school guidance counselor.
