Hi,

My friend and I had recently tried to open up this little cafe selling smoothies and tea. We had gotten our floorplanes/blueprints drafted out, submitted to the heatlh department to get the 'okay'.

So after about a week, I got a call from the lady telling me I am missing a handsink and grease trap for the inside of the store. I made sure that's all that was needed.

So we went ahead with some small renovations, and now, I'm told we need a grease trap/interceptor that's for the OUTSIDE. Her supervisor said so.

Usually, when opening a smoothie store, not even cooking anything to have that much FOG to start with, is it required to have grease traps both in and out the perimeter of the shop? I mean, I know it'll narrow down to the city's code and such, but it's hair-pulling at the moment. I am told one way, and now another. What is this?

Lelia.

There was an article in the New Yorker several years ago that briefly mentioned an Asian food restaurant near La Jolla/UCSD with extremely spicy chiles. Dying to go, but I can't find the article and I can't find the restaurant. Thanks!

McDonalds? Carl's Jr.? Wendy's? Burger King? In and Out?

Me personally, I think In and Out, as they're burgers seem to be made naturally...without all the access oils and 'filler' that leaves you with a 'yucky stomach' feeling; or a feeling that leaves you still hungry.

Their fries (In and Out) seem to be made naturally as well....(McDonald's fries are still good, but sometimes they're lacking).

Your picks?
