I work for a fast food company and we have restaurants on and near bases. If you are on the base, and you are not AAFES or NEXCOM, you have to pay a very high percentage of gross sales to the government as well as a c.a.m. fee. If you don't build these charges in, you will lose money.

Because they know they will get the money. It also depends on the area ( geographically speaking )

same reason why theyre higher in malls... they figure you wont want to leave the area to get it cheaper
