i am on the McDonalds side here. I mean, he did steale their name. but if you really wanna show ur dislike and support the small hamburger shop, i would suggest you to never eat any McDonalds again in ur life. That will be a true statement.

So this seems like a rhetorical question, not one you actually want to know the answer to. Yes McDonalds have a monopoly over the name McDonalds BUT that being said there have been cases where McDonalds have lost their battle where it is the shop keepers or owners family name. You see where it is used as a possession moniker not in the way this man has used it to compete with the chain then it is perfectly legal as no one can claim a name, just like J.K. Rowling cannot copyright the name Harry Potter because all men the world over would have to seek permission to use their own name. But the guy you are talking about was using it as a promotional tool in an effort to compete with the fast food giant. You seem really angry and I cannot for the life of me see how this affects you personally, are you the guy? Because this does not affect his customers in any other way than maybe the cost of the produce will go up to cover the legal costs, only the name has to change though. So maybe there are bigger things to worry about in life than what happens when some dopey person challenges a giant.

I saw this on TV tonight. The guys name was MacDonald. It's not even spelt the same. And his burgers looked fantastic and are made with fillet steak!!! YES......shame on you McDonalds!!
