McDonalds? Carl's Jr.? Wendy's? Burger King? In and Out?
Me personally, I think In and Out, as they're burgers seem to be made naturally...without all the access oils and 'filler' that leaves you with a 'yucky stomach' feeling; or a feeling that leaves you still hungry.
Their fries (In and Out) seem to be made naturally as well....(McDonald's fries are still good, but sometimes they're lacking).

Best burger = In and Out's is good and the healthiest, so when I get fast food (not too common), that's usually the choice (animal style). I also have a guilty pleasure of a Big Mac on occasion.
Best fries = Burger King fries are pretty good. In and Out fries are healthier, but lack in flavor and substance in my opinion. They're so light and healthy that it seems like I'm eating air most of the time.

Burger King has the best burgers. Fries on the other hand is a toss up between Wendy's and McDonald's

I suggest mcdonalds fries and a burger king burger. Burger King uses "free range" beef, not the feed lot animal abuse meat that mcdonalds uses. BK also uses flame broiled compares to an electric heat panel at mcdonalds. I high reccomend having "it your way" with some fries from the golden arches. In n Out is good, but it's not a nationwide chain, carls jr. is known as "hardees" west of california. They are okay, but again, harder to find.

I've never heard of In and Out so I think Wendy's has the best burgers and McDonald's has the best fries

For burgers, I prefer Whataburger. You just can't top a good Whataburger. Dairy Queen is probably my least favorite, mostly because it's usually greasy and they almost always get my order wrong.
For fries, I definitely prefer McDonalds. I understand how unhealthy they are, but I can't help but love Mickey D's. Arby's has the best curly fries, however, and Chick-Fil-A (sp?) has the best waffle fries.
I've never heard of In and Out, however, so I don't know how I would rate it.

I say none of the above have the best french fries or burger. The best french fries I think are at Jack in the Box and the best franchise burger is at Sonic.

I would have to say my personal fav is Hardee's (carl's Jr out west). They taste like a burger should and the fries are just crunchy enough to make my mouth water.

Another vote for in-n-out. Great burgers but below average fries. If only they could come to Salt Lake City.
