I have a older model big screen TV that was given to me. The problem is that the screen is spilt with a green picture and a red picture. Why did this happen and is this expensive or worth fixing. Thanks

We have recently decided to get a DVD player. They do not seem to work with our TV (it is an older one, but does have the plugs for the audio and video input). We took the first one back, but this second one does not work either.

Please help... we have 4 yr old twin boys and need to keep them occupied during bad weather.

I was wondering if there is anything like a VCR for HDTV in development or production. I'm looking for something that can record HDTV, and then I can have it, like a video tape or HD-DVD. I already have a DVR that can record, but it's stuck in the DVR and can't be kept permanently or shared with others, and it is also limited by the DVR's Hard Drive size.

Since the cable co added the box, I can't record anymore. Before the cable box, I had no problem recording my shows. What needs to go into the vcr, and what needs to come out of the cable box? Do I need an A/B switch? Where does that go?

i've noticed after turning my tv up fairly high last night that there's a weird sound coming from just the channel i was watching, abc. it makes music and people's voices sound somewhat warped periodically, and won't go away.

did this happen bc i turned the volume up so high? or is it something else. i started noticing it after i did that. is there anyway i can fix it? i hope there is.

I have a Samsung LE32R74BDX, and sometimes some of the channels (always the same ones: ITVx, C4, C5, E4 and a few more) are totally scrambled. Samsung says it's the signal.

My television keeps shutting off on its own after being on for about five minutes. I have to unplug it and plug it back in to get it to turn on again. Then I turn something like the vcr or dvd on play and it shuts off again. Is it something I can get fixed cheaply or should I just get a new TV. It's a Zenith brand TV and all the Zenith TV's we have had in the past never gave us any problems.

My 720p HDTV upscale (zoom) picture from my DVD to fill the screen. Is this any different from DVD players when they up-convert the picture to 720p? If it's no difference (my guess), then why dose up-conversion function exists? Why would any one pay extra for a DVD with up-conversion function? If it is different, please explain. Thanks.
