We have recently decided to get a DVD player. They do not seem to work with our TV (it is an older one, but does have the plugs for the audio and video input). We took the first one back, but this second one does not work either.

Please help... we have 4 yr old twin boys and need to keep them occupied during bad weather.

We do not have a channel 0. It starts at channel 2. We have tried every channel in hopes that it would work somewhere.

You need to hit the TV/Video switch button on the remote. The rca jacks hook into the tv not as a channel. there should also be a button on the front of the TV for this. sometimes if you go to the channel before your first channel, 2 in this case, because your Tv has been auto channel programmed, the TV's video channel is automaticly set to this slot, it also works by the button.
plus some TVs have RCA input and OUTPUT jacks,, make sure your pluged into the input jacks.

In summary, make sure...

The cabling connections are correct. Assuming you're using composite connectors (red, white, yellow RCA jacks), the video connections (yellow jack) and audio connections (red and/or white jacks) match up from your DVD output to TV input. You may even want to swap cables to ensure that that's not your problem.

The TV is set to VIDEO IN or something similar. That setting could either be a part of your channel selector or a matter of changing the input source for the TV (antenna, Video 1, Video 2, etc).

Let us know when you get it to work.

Yeah What he said.

The button should be on the remote or on the TV. TV/Video, Input, Source, maybe even A/V. Try to find and button like that or maybe even one that you don't know what it does.

Good luck

your tv might not have a connecting cable. and if it's not that try and change the channels like not the cable channels but the television channel.
