It depends on what size. If you are going 40" or larger and can afford it you should go 1080P.

NBC broadcasts at 1080i, not 1080p, there is a difference. 1080p is only going to be used if you have an HD-DVD or Blu Ray player, it is not available on cable or satellite, and will not be for the forseable future.

there are no 1080p broadcasts yet they new blueray dvd players send 1080p the new 1080p set upconvert their signal doubling the picture so the 1080p pictures look brighter and sharper they have2 millions pixels instead of1 million pixels

780 is pretty good, but 1080 is better. I know NBC broadcasts at 1080
