These 3 models I am considering is Pansonic ( http://panasonic.com.sg/web/pid/17/), Samsung (http://www.samsung.com/sg/products/tv/archivedtv/ps_50p5h.asp) and the LG ( model 50PC1R in LG singapore website ) which are avialable in my local shop. Although the Panasonic in its website says it upscales Standard definition to resolution of the TV (max1080i ) Is this a standard for all HD ready TVs, it upscales all SD souces to HD picture quality? Its not mentioned anyway in LG or Samsung models. Panasonic website has a lot more detail but is it all just marketing? I also read that there only 5 plasma screen manufacturers ( panasonic, pioneer , fujuitsu-hitachi, samsung and LG) , every one else buys the screen from them and just rebrand with picture enhancing technology. Its kind of lame though for the other manufacturers to do this ! A friend advice me to buy from the maufacturers who makes their own screen in the first place.

Just brought it home and set it up. Been tweaking with the tv to get the picture quality just "right" but to no avail. My 36in RCA tv that is 6 years old has WAY better picture. It just seems so choppy and the letters(like on commercials, news) are fuzzy. The reviews seem to say that this tv is a great one. I just don't understand. I don't know if the quality of a 60inch television is compromised because of its biggness, or if something is wrong with it and I need to take it back. Every review I seen said it was razor sharp. I know that I do NOT have it hooked up to the hdtv yet. I have to go do that through my sattelite company. I just am so confused with all this. BTW, just played a movie and the movie LOOKED GREAT. Someone please explain this to me and tell me if something is wrong or if it is maybe because I don't have the high def. "on" yet.
Sorry for my ignorance!
Thanks!!

Will the digital cable box feed the HD signal through to my TV to be viewed in HD. Do I need to buy a HD cable box, even though I have the tuner in the TV?

We need certain cables that the instruction book calls for to get HD TV. It calls for "19 pin HDMI" cables... what does the "pin" mean?

Is there any way to get HDTV channels without a cable box? Perhaps an antenna and a diplexer? Help!

Would it work on my HDTV to put a Diplexer into the cable port, and then in one hole plug in a 'rabbit ears' antenna and on the other port plug in the standard Cable Television wire in order to receive HDTV channels?

First I ordered the LCD well... I thought i did but it was the plasma i ordered by accident so i called Dell and I asked him to change my order and he told me if i was buying it for the ps3 it was better that i get the plasma for the graphics, but I said what about burn in? he said that it would only burn in if i paused it and left it for a couple hours and went back so i thought ok so if i pause it i'll just turn off the tv not the system... so i got the plasma. (horrible choice) so christmas morning my boyfriend opens the ps3 and plays it for like an hour and turned off the tv to cool down... then played it again for like another hour and when he turned off the tv on the hdmi output screen we could still see his bullet rounds at the bottom of the screen well kind of like a ghost image we could barley see it but we could kind of like a clear shadow... so we put it on plasma conditioning which is like a white screen with black wrighting that floats around the screen..for 2 and a half hours it took to take the image away. and it happend again with the map on the screen only in 45 mins of playing but condioning took it away . its' been almost 60 days now that i had the tv and i asked dell if they would exchange for an LCD but its past 30 days so they cant do anything about it. . . and im paying monthly for it so now i have to pay $3013 for a a tv that im scared to use and probably wont use. So the guy at dell lied to me PLASMA is not better for gaming!!!!! I cant even give it back and let them keep the payments i've already paid so I got screwed!!

I have just purchased a series 3 HD Tivo, which is like an HD box which uses cable card technology.

I am wondering wondering what the advantages or disadvantages of having an HDTV w/ built in HD tuner, as opposed to just having a HDTV monitor w/ no built in HD tuner.

As it is now I can record two shows at once w/ the tivo box because it has two cable card slots. I'm wondering if I got an HDTV w/ built in HD tuner, would I be able to record two shows at once, and then watch a third show in HD w/ the built-in tuner on the tv?

Any other suggestions on which type of tv I should get, and why..

Cable was supposed to hook up 3 boxes in my house, which they knew before they sent the "cable guy," and when the man came yesterday, he informed us that one of the 3 boxes he brought was broken, hooked up two of them, and told us the 3rd could come another time. Now they insist I pay a service charge for delivery and installation, when to come into the house in the first place it is $9.99 to install any amount of boxes. They got their $9.99 for the installation of the 2 boxes yesterday, but they say they will not come and install the 3rd unless we pay 20 something dollars. Can I insist they come free of charge? It was their mistake for sending a broken box in the first place, but they are being really stubborn, and I bet they do this purposely. Is there anything I can do about it?
