Would it work on my HDTV to put a Diplexer into the cable port, and then in one hole plug in a 'rabbit ears' antenna and on the other port plug in the standard Cable Television wire in order to receive HDTV channels?

If I understand well. You have a TV with a single RF input and you want to connect both an off-the-air antenna and a RF cable.

Yes, you can buy a 2:1 RF mixer and connect both to the same port. However, you may want to update to digital cable. Analog cable on an HDTV does not look that good.

No that won't work. I trust you have a HD box that you need to plug an antenna into. If you want to use a good HD antenna, I recommend using a amplified HD antenna. I have one and I used it with my Samsung HD box.

For your particular situation, plug the antenna into the cable box and then connect the cable box to the TV. That's your ticket.
