Just brought it home and set it up. Been tweaking with the tv to get the picture quality just "right" but to no avail. My 36in RCA tv that is 6 years old has WAY better picture. It just seems so choppy and the letters(like on commercials, news) are fuzzy. The reviews seem to say that this tv is a great one. I just don't understand. I don't know if the quality of a 60inch television is compromised because of its biggness, or if something is wrong with it and I need to take it back. Every review I seen said it was razor sharp. I know that I do NOT have it hooked up to the hdtv yet. I have to go do that through my sattelite company. I just am so confused with all this. BTW, just played a movie and the movie LOOKED GREAT. Someone please explain this to me and tell me if something is wrong or if it is maybe because I don't have the high def. "on" yet.
Sorry for my ignorance!
Thanks!!

Let me guess, you are watching non-HD channels. Guess what? HDTV's make all non-HD stations look fuzzy because it has to stretch and magnify the image to fit the screen. This is known as upscaling. Upscaling is bad. A tube TV has a standard resolution of 480i, which means no upscaling when watching a standard station. This means tube tv's will always look better than HDTV's with standard definition stations.

If you watch a higher quality station (digital or HD stations), you will see the benefits. DVD's are higher quality than standard stations. DVD's are 480p, where standard stations are 480i (technically worst, NTSC, which is a step below 480i).

Get HD!!!

You need to hook up the cable, sat.or rabbit ears to get any picture. That is what I did and it looks great now.
