With my previous Directv Satellite receiver I could run a cable from the "out to TV" port to a splitter and then to my 3 TV's. The other 2 TVs are in bedrooms and although we couldnt change the chanels we could at least watch tv for no additional monthly charge. However, we just got an HD DVR for our new HD TV and it connects to the TV with either an S Video cable or HDMI cable...there isnt an out to TV port on it that uses regular TV cable and my other TVs are older and can only use TV cable. I don't have a clue how to hook the other TV's into it. The guy who installed the HD DVR said his job order was to hook up one TV so he wouldnt help me at all.

I thought a modulator would work but it looks like they are to hook several componets (like DVD, VCR, & games) to a TV - not to hook TV's together.

Can you give me any suggestions other than getting additional receivers?

I have just bought a dual digital recorder from Asda. It picks up all the freeview channels with a great reception.

However when I hit recorder the channel immediatly begins to 'stick'

Do you think that this is a reception problem?

What does anyone suggest?

Thanks

I've got a Westinghouse 42" LCD monitor (I know Westinghouse makes washers and stoves) and Comcast digital cable with their DVR. I am using the HDMI cable to connect my DVR to my monitor. Recently I have been having a pixelating, or skipping and blotchy picture with skipping and very fast repeating of small amounts of sound. The cable guy has been out here a few times and of course, it never happens when he is here. I have an entry level HDMI cable. Will using a more expensive one like Monster Cable help to fix this?

The cable guy connected the coax cables in this order: 1) The cable into the house is connected to RF IN on cable box. 2) RF OUT on cable box is connected to VHF/UHF IN on VCR. 3) VHF/UHF OUT on VCR is connected to CABLE IN on TV. And he connected HDMI OUT on the cable box to HDMI IN on the TV. Viewing TV when I select the HDMI input works fine. Recording with the DVR works fine. However I'm not able to view TV nor record TV with my VCR when I select the cable input (Again, the cable input is where the coax cable finally ends.). Should I be able to view TV and record TV with my VCR using the signal on the coax cable and the aforementioned connection configuration?

I currently have Sky (on the full channel package) and will be purchasing a second hand Sky+ Box from a relative who has decided to cancel their subscription. I`ve requested a Sky+ viewing card from Sky for the box.

Is it possible for me to simply disconnect the Sky box and then connect the Sky+ box using the current wiring setup ?

After activating my Sky+ viewing card, would I be able to use the box and its recording features ?

I realise that I won't be able to 'watch one channel while recording another' until I get sky to do a proper install.

To cut a long story short, Sky buggered up the location of the initial dish installation so I`m trying to save repeated call out charges and make them sort this out plus the Sky+ in one visit. Thing is I can't arrange this until April because of some work being done to the house.

Any input on this would be appreciated.

Cheers

Ive seen online that this is possible, has anyone had any experience with adding an external HD to a Scientific Atlantic 8300hd DVR. I have Optimum (Cablevision NY).

I hate the 8300, I had several of them, this last one has been replaced less then a month after I got it.

Does the external HDD register with the DVR, and all data has to get lost if the DVR is replaced?
Can you specify to record shows to the External device?
What is the largest compatible HDD?

I have a comcast dual tuner DVR, a Vizio HD TV, panasonic DVD/VCR & a Kenwood A/V receiver. How do I hook them all together? Right now they are all separately connected to the TV making it impossible to set the VCR on screen and I can't get the A/V receiver to work with only the TV.
