DVR does the same a vcr does except it records on a hard drive. Once recorded you can fast forward, reverse, & slow motion. You can set it up to record your favorite shows and tell it to record all shows or just new episodes and not re-runs. While watching live TV you can pause, rewind, & slow motion also.

If you have Dish Network or Direct TV they offer DVR's or you can buy a Tivo from Target or Radio Shack. If you sign up for new satellite service, they often give you a free or really cheap DVR by rebate, depending on when and where you get it. DVRs are so much more easy to use than VCRs. There's no tape or CD, just clicking a record button and watching it later. I think the Tivo is between $200 and $350, depending on how fancy you want it.

Where did you get that avatar? I absolutely just love it!!!
I'd like to shake him tho. Re the DVR--that's a digital
video recorder and a VCR - that's a video cassette recorder.
Go to any Radio Shack. Do you want a recorder? or just
a DVD player? Be sure to find out how to hook them up
because sometimes they don't fit an old TV. I'll buy all
your videos when you get rid of your VCR cause I just ain't
ready for DVDs yet. I get stubborn when they keep making
us upgrade when there's no need for it.
