I have a TV with a built in DVR. I can't record one show while watching another, unless I manually hit record on a show and then use the PIP. I'm still playing with the machine but don't completely understand. When I hit record on a show while I'm watching it, I can then hit the PIP button to see another channel and I think the other channel will keep recording. However, it only lets me see channels 1-13 in teh PIP box. Should I be able to see more channels? Is there any other trick to watching one show while recording another besides hooking up a VCR?

I've been using TiVo's online scheduling for a while and something seems to have changed. I used to get confirmations both that the request had been sent and that the recording had been scheduled. Now I only get the "request received" confirmation. Has TiVo changed something here.

I get this both using TiVo's online scheduling and the method using Yahoo TV. In both cases I *have* checked the box that requests email confirmation.

Hi -- I'm new to the flat screen world and DVR. My TV has DVR built into it but it is not working all the time. Anytime I have set the DVR to record a major network program it has recorded fine, however, when I've set it to record any other channel it comes up wtih an error. I had it set to tape something yesterday and when I got home and turned on the TV (it should have already been taping) it just said 'scrambled' on my TV. I'm not sure if there is a setting I need to change or if I am doing something wrong? Any advice is greatly appreciated -- thanks!

I got the DVD recorder today and am having problems with it. There was a big problem right from the start, I managed to put in the right plugs and get the installing page up but when I scanned the channels, it came up with 0 channels and the background was fuzzy. Since then I connected the cords to my free view box and no change, It dosent seem to have registered my channels. What do you think I'm doing wrong? The screen just goes fuzzy when its on.

I live in the Philadelphia area and have Comcast cable. They set my cable box to their CN8 channel every time I power it on. Where is the hidden menu or setting to select a new default channel? There is no setting on the regular on screen setup menu. Another slick marketing ploy I surmise!!!! I would like to just set it to start with the last channel I was watching before turning it off last. It is a Motorola Hi Def DVR box. Help, I can't take Lynn Doyle anymore!!!!!

Since I have gotten home today I turn on my TV and tried to change the channel. On the left side that shows the number of the channel and the station logo is changing, but the current show and its name is not. For example I change to CNN and the number changes but Law & Order remains as well as the show. No, the show is not recording. How can i get the station and the screen to change at the same time. this is very weird. thanks.

We have a Mitsubishi TV CS 20 SX1 (old - not sure of date of purchase) and I can't find the users manual. We are trying to hook up a DVR to it but I can't find out how to locate the "video in channel". It is also sometimes called "front", "A/V in", or "video". I need this location to access the menu on the DVR to set up channels, time, etc. Any ideas? Or is the TV too old for this newer electronic device? It should be a blue screen. I can only find "EXT" using the input button.
