Can you upload stuff off your DVR to your computer?

I just got a DVR and I want to upload a show that I recorded to my computer so that I can put it on youtube and then on my website...can I do this?? Is there any software that I need ??

Only some of the newer TIVOs are able to do that...

Perhaps the easiest way to get the programming from your DVR to your computer is with a video capture card (connects to your computer and has a "video-in" connection so you can record off your DVR).

You could also record from the DVR with a DVD recorder, then rip the DVD to your computer...
