the shop you brought it from, but if over a year old then you will have to pay for parts etc.
if its the hard drive itself and needs replace you will have a new one, therefore losing anything saved on it.

You don't mention what model Sony DVD recorder you have, or what the problem is - some fixes can be done without having to take it to a repair outlet.
Yes, Sony does have Service Centres around the UK, but most repairs go to the Pencoed site in South Wales (even from dealers). Either post the model you have on this site, or contact me direct via my profile.

I would suggest the place you bought it from. If at all, try not to go to Best Buy's Geek Squad because they tend to overcharge sometimes. Also check on the box or sony website for a support number to find an place near you that can fix it. Good Luck.
