If you have a series 1 tivo you can buy a cache card.. You will need to take the case off and plug the cache card into the motherboard, then attach a stick of 512 MB Ram to it.

Cache card costs around $100, not including the Ram or Installation.

For series 2, or series 3, there is no way

If you are talking about remote response time there have been some issues.

Unplug your TIVO and wait 15 seconds. Plug it in and let it completely boot up and try it.

If that doesn't do it try checking issues here - http://www.tivocommunity.com/tivo-vb/index.php?s=4991dda17837c7fefd21443d75d5b968
