i have freeview and was wondering if i can get extra channels?

Yes, if you own / buy a Freeview box with a 'Pay-per-View' card slot.

These cards cost £7.99 a month, and you only need to buy one month at a time.

Yes you can it is called Top-Up-Tv, but your freeview box has to have a card slot in it.
