As far as I know, Ionizers emit negatively charged ions that attach to positively charged particles like dust and smoke, thus cleaning the air around it. Would this also cause harm to the body (ie. cancer, infertility)? What harmful effects would this have on electronic equipments (ie. tv, cellphone, etc)?

I just purchased a Harman Kardon model 3480 receiver and would like to find a good quality cd player/recorder that is capable of recording my vinyl albums onto cd. Also want it to be capable of simply being used as a cd player and to copy cd to cd. Any suggestions on a good quality model player/recorder that will be capable of recording my vinyl LPs to cd?

I'm sending 2 mini cassette tapes from South Florida to my brother in Nashville. There is a very sentimental conversation between my mother and my grandmother (both passed away now) and I don't want to lose the audio due to xray machines or any other gadgets. What is the best way to do this?

I only use it 3 times a week for about 50 minutes. Our energy bill is way up and Im trying to figure out if its from the treadmill or our heat use (which would surprise me because my feet are numb right now, we are nazi's with our heat usage) I guess my big complaint is that Im wondering if it would be cheaper to have a gym membership if its costing me so much to have a treadmill -or do I just have to accept that our house is poorly built (its a new home and has a huge cathedral cieling on the lower level. It looks cool but it might be the heat-eater too) Anyway, just wondering if anyone knows because I can't find the answer by doing my usual google search.

By a la carte I mean you agree to only pay for the channels you want, in addition to the local channels. Or do you like the system the way it is where ouy pay for a "package" of channels?

I'm trying to get rid of my cable service - primarily because i hate charter communications... the signal is crap, half the channels look like their coming in through rabbit ears. sometimes, for no apparent reason, all my movie channels will just up and shut down. they say "for subscription details, press info." I ALREADY SUBSCRIBED!!! i have a 57" hd tv so every little detail counts, i want top of the line picture and sound quality. i want to upgrade to dish network or directv, or another satellite provider that may exist i dont know about. i want your overall opinion about what i want to do, as well as answers to these questions:
does satellite tv still have problems during stormy weather?
is the internet service provided with satellite comparable to cable?
is the picture quality much better with satellite compared to digital cable?

thanks in advance!
