Go to an electrical store, or maybe Wal-Mart.
I am an Englishman living in Arizona and had to get an adapter.

Many foreign countries have outlets that can use American appliances...but don't take the chance!
Yes, there are converters for sale for all the different types of electrical outlets in the world.
I, myself, bought a universal kit that came with all of them. But just do a search on teh internet and see which one you need. I would think a Target would carry them.
The link below is just an example.

Most home appliances like hand held hair dryers run on 110-120 volts. I only know, for sure the U.K, and Thailand use 220 volts. If you manage to plug your hairdryer into a socket in the U.K. it will get fried. Someone else is correct you need to a plug adapter for European outlets. You'll have to get a 220 to 110 step-down transformer. They're heavy and cumbersome to take with you on a trip. It just isn't worth it. You'll just have to spend money for something you can only use over there and when you get back you'll be stuck with several 'white elephants'.

Yes I have seen an adapter. I'm not sure where to get it. Radio shack maybe, Circuit City? In those other countries they have more power so I don't know what it would do to your hairdryer.

At Wal-Mart you can find a converter set in the travel section that has a power converter, and also plug converters to fit most countries plugs. About $20.

Yes there is and you can get it at electronic stores like Radio Shack, Best Buy, Frys, Circuit City, and maybe Walmart or Target. Good luck to you. For on line shopping try amazon.com, or overstock.com.

yes, there are adapters. buy one in the country you're going too. also, it's cheap enough to buy a domestic hairdryer where ever you're going. I bought one in switzerland many years ago and pack it where ever I go in europe.
