Land Phones (Consumer Electronics)

I've got a bakelite phone on ebay and wondered if anyone knows how to convert it to BT. It's an ITI 312 style phone. Any info would be good. Also have a Queens Jubilee phone aswell and would like to convert it. Any phone experts out there?

How do I know if my phone line is PSTN or RS232?

I'm installing a credit card machine at work - the instructions say to ensure its connected to a PSTN line, never RS232.

Is there any way to check, who called me?

I have land phone line in Japan. Some calls no sound by hang-up me. So i need check that, who want to play with me by phone call. I don’t have such a facility to see the display and i don’t want to receive a list from telephone Company. Is there any free way to check received phone calls?

How can I find a person's home phone number online if I already have the cell phone number for that person?

I have a friend who lives close to me with a friend of his from his home state New York, and I only have his cell phone number. He lives about 10 minutes from me, but I'm unsure if he has a landline phone.

Can DECT cordless phones be used without connecting to a phone line?

There's a **great** deal in newspaper. I'd like to use the 4 handset system as a cordless intercom system. (phone base not connected to phone line). Is this possible? If not, why not?

Just a warning about returning a call in the UK?

When at my elderly mothers yesterday a phone call came asking to return call she as a BT line only with talk talk for calls I rang BT and it is not one of there numbers I rang from my phone and same msg the call costs at least 25p the number is 08712089406 so don't waste your money after the msg it goes to transfer you!!!I know it's not a question only I think it's a scam.
