When someone calls you on your land phone, it will not cost you money. The only time that will cost you is if you recieve a collect call or if you called a long distance number plus however long (minutes) you spoken for.

The cost of the call is paid by the caller unless they call collect -then the person called has to accept the charges before the call can be connected.

well in the USA if it is a local call ,its paid for by both for the local service (your normal phone bill). If it's a long distance call, The caller pays unless the call is collect. If it is a cell phone calling a local number It comes off the callers minutes

For house phones (land lines), the CALLER pays the charges. Unless of course they make a collect call.

Who ever makes the call pays for it, answering your phone does not cost you anything

They pick up long distance tabs, local calls neither pay extra it is in your monthy bill. The exception is if you accept a collect call or a third party handicap assist call (voice relay) you will see an extra charge on your bill.
I have recieved the voice relay bill in VA but this may be a state charge not national.

It would cost the person doin the calling - assuming its a toll or local toll call. If its a local call - then thats usually included into the monthly charge already so there would be no additional fees.

it costs whoever is making the call money. unless it's a collect call. then the person getting the call gets charged
