I am constructing my new house. The "professtional" guy from Home Theater store would charge me $500 for cable purchase and $1000 for installation of the wires.

At the same time, a guy from the security system firm was here to estimate and stated that he is able to install the home theater wiring by charging about 1 hour rate of the labor if we are able to purchase the cable ourselves.

Anyone can tell me what wouold be the differnces to have these two kinds of professional installing the home theater wiring.

I am looking to replace my existing Tannoy speakers with a wireless set up to avoid running wires over a wooden floor that we have just put down. I would like to use my existing amp.

I have seen a couple of lost cost wireless PC speakers but nothing for a home theatre system running of a Yamaha amp (5:1 with sub woofer).

Anyone aware of products that might suit?

Thanks

My room is 16'x20' w/ vaulted ceiling.I read wallspkrs go about ear level ,seated. What is good height for tv? Cntr spkr is below tv?I'm going w/polk tc265i for front& cntr and polk tc65i for rears.polk psw303 for sub. How far away from side of tv for spkrs?I'm remodeling now so i want to get wires in right spots. TV would be on the 20' wall, which has a marble fireplace taking up half the wall. Rear spkrs will be about 7' up because of beam placement for vault. I'm stuck with that.I'm thinking of going with sony or sharp aquos for tv.I have not decided on that yet.I have tried Dolby.com but that did not give me heights, just angles. Thanks for the info

I have these speakers http://fluance.stores.yahoo.net/fluanceavhtb.html but I need a receiver. I don't want to buy one online though without knowing for sure that it will be compatible with these speakers. Power ratings, connection types, and compatibility is seeming very daunting. Any suggestions?
