My living room is setup such that all the A/V equipments are facing the side of the room. (there's no TV in front of me, I use an overhead projector). So everytime I have to walk over to the side of the room to change channels, etc. Is there anything out there that can reflect my IR signals 90 degrees?

Does anyone have the panasonic sc-ht940 Home Thearter system? If you do, I'd really appreaciate it if you could tell me about the good and bad things about it. I'm planning to buy one, and I want to make sure that it's good enough for casual listeners.

I have a Divx-Xvid compatible dvd player (the company is Legend) which I have just bought recently. I burnt a CD with a divx sample video but it can't play it. The same with xvid. It plays the audio for the first second before returning back to the menu. I have fiddled with the remote etc, but it doesnt seem to help.

Can you help?

I'm buying a DVD recorder that will upconvert to my HDTV for good picture quality short of having a true hi-def DVD recorder, which aren't yet available or at least at a reasonable price. Can current recorders pick up hi-def TV stations and record them standard definition? I'm worried that the recorder will be obsolete in 2 years when analog TV stations stop broadcasting.

Will the picture quality be better or worse than a component connection? And please dont tell me to go buy an overpriced Monster cable. The amount of electromagnetic radiation a cable only 3 feet long is exposed to is minimal if run properly.

I'm considering to buy Definitive Technology BP7004 front speakers which has only single input cable connections.
However I'd like to to use them with both my stereo amlifier and a/v receiver at the same time without the hassle of switching cables.
The option of connecting the stereo amplifier to the a/v receiver also doesn't make sense to me, since my stereo amplifier (DENON PMA-2000AE) is much more powerful compared to my a/v receiver should handle(also a DENON, AVR-3300) .

Any suggestions to my problem?
