Hi, I'm not sure what DPI exactly is. 300dpi and 72dpi, which is better? why?

Everytime the photo I shot came out as 72dpi, but sometimes I see photos uploaded to the net with 300dpi, how do I get a 300dpi as well?

I have a Canon Powershot camera which takes 4AAs and the sales guy at Best Buy talked me into the nimh rechargeable batteries and they are NEVER charged when I need them (I feel like I wasted $45). I have small kids and have to admit it is hard for me to get into the habit to remember to keep the darn things charged. So when I want to grab my camera it usually is good for just a few shots if that.
I tried the new Duracell Pix batteries that say they last twice as long as the alkalines but they gave me about 50 pictures. Are the nimh my only answer? Why can't the camera or battery companies figure out how to get as many pictures out of a digital camera as you used to get out of a film camera.

Thanks!

Why must one buy a 10 mega pixel DSLR camera when a super compact too has 10 mega pixel? All I can think of is the felixibilty to change & use more than one lens. Is the resolution any better than a supercompact digital camera?

I guess it's almost too late, cause the camera is already being shipped, but I'll ask anyways. I just bought a Fuji F30. I was reading some reviews on it (and not that they would have really changed my decision to buy it) and they said that the low light capabilities are great, which is fine. But they also said that it's not great in bright situations. It's my first camera, so I dont need really high quality photos. So are the pictures taken in high light situations really that bad for a recreational picture taker? Thanks

Actually i have bought this cam two weeks ago. I am facing few problems in its handling. 1) When i asked my vendor why all of a sudden the camera goes off and lense remained in open position, he replied "its battery (AA Cell) probelm, i should charge it perfectly". I purchased another four cells of higher of mah capacity thinking that may be i was using light mah cell but it did not help. 2) I have purchased one g.b. sony "high speed" memory stick but due to cell problem could not succeed to see its result. I have read somewhere that i would be needed an adaptor for using 1 gb stick.

My memory card is damaged because it fell on the floor and got wheeled over by an office chair numerous times before we found it. Is there any way to recovery the pictures on it? I've already taken it to Wolf Camera and Wal-Mart and their machines couldn't read the pictures off of it either. What can I do??

Is it true that low battery corrupt all the images you've taken.
I've read that when the battery is LOW and the lamp indicator of it starts to blink all the images disappear from the memory card!
Did you ever had a situation when the battery was low and the camera
shut down, were all the images on the card after switching it on again?
I want to buy FZ7 but I am realy confused after I read it.
Maybe the guy who wrote it has smth wrong with the card..
Could you comment please?

I mainly want to take pictures of my kids but also want it to use for sports (myself and theirs when they get older). I am worried about the blur that occurs on sports pictures sometimes. I play tennis and get a lot of that on any camera. Does anyone have this and have good experience with sports pictures. Also, had a question about the quality and stability of the zoom. Thanks in advance.

Well, I had bought a digital camera recently. I had put a memory card in it, and then didn't use it for a while. I turned the camera on, and it says that the memory card is locked. Why does this mean? Why does it say this? And what can I do about it?
