Here is what a well-known review site thought...
"What I liked..(about the TZ1)
Very good photo quality (though see issues below)
10X optical zoom in a small package
Optical image stabilization system
Well built metal body comes in at least two colors
Large 2.5" LCD display is visible in low light; handy Power LCD and High Angle features
AF-assist lamp, good low light focusing
Superb performance, especially with a high speed SD card
Great movie mode; records in widescreen; zoom lens usable during filming
Very good continuous shooting mode (with high speed card)
What I didn't care for...
Images noisier than they should be, especially at high ISO sensitivities; unimpressive high sensitivity mode
Redeye
Flash is on the weak side
No viewfinder of any kind
Some manual controls would've been nice
No USB 2.0 High Speed support
Very little built-in memory
Below average battery life
Plastic tripod mount"

I took this with me to Europe for 3 weeks. LOVED IT!!! Learn all of the functionality before you take it on vacation. Small and fairly lightweight compared to an SLR Camera. Great zoom.

Let me get this right. You bought the camera before you know if it's good or not.
Wouldn't it have been a good idea to ask this question before you bought it? It's a little late, now.

once you may be taking a lot of outside panorama photos or lengthy distance pastime photos, i ought to signify the Panasonic. yet i love the actual shown truth that Canon has more advantageous constructive factors to it. you should do a lot of cool issues with it

You can and should always check consumer reviews. Either epinions.com or one i use all the time is steve's digicams.
I didnt see the camera there but he has reviewed alot of models... and i use it for almost every recommendation and purcahse i do.
