A friend of mine who took a photography course bought a camera that cost about $1000. What websites would you recommend for getting the most bang for your buck with a camera purchase - should I talk to a photography professor to find out what cameras they recommend to their students who want to do this long-term? The technology is changing all the time and the costs may be going down with that in mind.. I just don't want to overspend.

ALSO - what's the best week/month of the year to purchase cameras?

My pictures are Gainy with my digital olympus SP-510 UZ Camera. The image quality is at HQ 3072x2304, but when I uploaded the pictures they were grainy and a bad quality. Not smooth and sharp like my old 4 Mega Pixal camera. Whats going on!?

I just got it this christmas and here are two links of pictures I have taken. One is a good quality and it was taken outside, the other is a bad quality also taken outside but behind a wall. Both were taken on auto mode.

I have a fairly new Sony pocket digital camera. While getting off a plane the sudden change in temperature (and pressure perhaps) created condensation on the back of the non-removable lens and left an annoying smear which became ever present on my pictures. Does anyone know a trick to get rid of it without having to send it to the shop for repairs?

I am having trouble between these two cameras on which one I want. I like the fact that there small so I can fit it in my purse. I was wondering which camera is better? I think there around the same dimensions. But picture quality i'm not sure. I'm looking for a camera that is fast, such as the delay time between pics. And a camera that doesn't take many blurry pics, especially driving down the road and taking pics even at night. Is there another Canon model that is better then the two I listed? Thanks for your help!

I bought a camera with internal memory of 16 mega-bytes. I don't think that's a lot but can it at least store like 50 pictures? Should I buy a memory card for more memory?

I'm having a hard time deciding on my first digital camera...all those zr af 10 MP 2 MP 3X zoom and what not are so confusing!! I need a good camera to take clear and cripsy pictures and one that could zoom in on a far away object. I feel comfortable in a price ranging from 200-400 dollars...as long as it takes excellent quality pictures and is easy to use.

Do memory cards have different make/model numbers for different cameras? ...or can you just buy a memory card for any digital camera without knowing a make and model number? In other words, are they more or less "universal"?

I haven't used the recording feature that much, but when I have, I can't figure out how to zoom. I can't zoom the same way you do for pictures. Can you just not zoom, or what?
