I like the Pentax Optio series with the SD memory card. I've bought four of these so far, the latest being a s6. These all take the same memory card and battery, so all of us family members can share a charger or borrow a memory card from each other if we need it. I understand from the camera shop that the Pentax has one of the hardest lenses. So, images are crisper than some cameras can take and it's harder to scratch.
Many people I know have admired our Pentax cameras. Some one so much so that he stole one right off my kitchen counter. I think it was the kid who said "I never touched it."
