I am having trouble between these two cameras on which one I want. I like the fact that there small so I can fit it in my purse. I was wondering which camera is better? I think there around the same dimensions. But picture quality i'm not sure. I'm looking for a camera that is fast, such as the delay time between pics. And a camera that doesn't take many blurry pics, especially driving down the road and taking pics even at night. Is there another Canon model that is better then the two I listed? Thanks for your help!

Sd800is will take sharper pictures because of the image stabilizer. Both cameras are fast between shots if you set the automatic review off. also try not to use the flash when you need to take several pictures or using the burst mode because charging the flash takes time too. go with the 800.

Don't overlook the SD700IS. Petra has told us that the widest lens angle (28 mm equiv) of the SD800IS is not very good optically anyway, so the 35 mm (equiv) of the SD700IS is probably about the same as you will use in the SD800IS anyway. The SD700IS then zooms out to 140 mm (equiv) and the SD800IS only goes to 105 mm (equiv) and that's just not very much zoom.

The SD800IS is a 7 MP camera and the SD700IS is "only" 6 MP, but I think that this difference is more than covered by the difference in zoom, if you know what I mean. You can "zoom" on the computer more than enough to make the same size image with one MP less in pixel count.

The SD800IS may have a sharper LCD, but who cares about that???

Otherwise, these appear to be VERY similar cameras, except the 700 is about $50 cheaper. If you can find it... I doubt you will have an easy time finding the 800, either.
