I haven't used the recording feature that much, but when I have, I can't figure out how to zoom. I can't zoom the same way you do for pictures. Can you just not zoom, or what?

I don't think you can. I couldn't on my old canon, but I got the S3-IS and I can zoom during video with that, but it was advertised as a special feature. I assume unless your manual says you can- you can't. Most of the lower model canons can't do it.

I think you can only use the digital zoom not the optical zoom. It's a little point and shoot camera made for stills with the video thrown in. If you want to zoom in a video, get a video camera.

I till now owned a similar Canon that I enjoyed, the A530. i've got by no skill owned a Sony digital camera. i'm going to enable you to recognize this, nonetheless: maximum photographers enable you to recognize that the suited cameras are made by utilising agencies that in simple terms make cameras, simply by fact of ways they produce the lenses (that are patently had to the conventional of the photograph). i might decide on the Canon. that's what Canon does. in simple terms a sprint.
