I bought a camera with internal memory of 16 mega-bytes. I don't think that's a lot but can it at least store like 50 pictures? Should I buy a memory card for more memory?

It depends on the quality setting, a good quality picture from a digital camera takes anywhere from 512kb to 2mb so 16mb isn't very much. I recommend buy a memory card, here is a 1GB one (about 800 pics) for only 16 dollars.

Do you have a User Guide? I think you need to read this. You do not need a super large photo in order to have a good quality photo. You can change the resolutions (you need to read your information booklet) to get a smaller photo. True, 16MB is not a lot of memory, and you would be wise to use a memory card if you want to keep lotza photos on your camera.

If you have a 6MP camera, a 16MB internal memory will give you around 7-8 photos at the best resolution. You'll need a memory card.

You'll only get a few pictures. Buy a card, but make sure you get the right one for your camera - there are a few different kinds.
