I have recently started a hobby of ghost vigils in haunted houses. I have a digital stills camera and a normal non digital video camera. How can i use either to get good night time shots?
Do i have to spend out on a ready made night vision camera or can i convert either by use of lights or special lenses etc?

This is while recording from a Mini DV camcorder and backing it up on DVD as video, via PC software, not just data backup.
Presuming we're using a reseonable resolution and sound quality.
Thanks!

I'm looking for something that is easy to use, cheap, can do some editing, good sound, good picture quality. Its to be used mainly for home to tape our grand daughter, parties, vacations, and camping.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I have a JVC digital video camera (model GR-D60EK). It is about 2 years old and is not used often.

I went to use it last weekend and when I tried to record it kept asking me to take off the lens cap - which was already off! All you could see was a black screen with a few signs on it..

It plays back the tapes absolutely fine, just has this problem with seeing through it's lens..

Does anyone know how to rectify this problem?

I'm basically looking at two: the Canon DC100 and the Panasonic VDR-D100. Hitachi DZBX35A is another possibility. Although I prefer Sony, we're kind of limited to these because of discounts we have available.

So, if you have any of them, or if you have knowledge about the quality and value of each, that would be helpful. Or any reasons why it's worth the extra investment to get a better one... reasons that will convince my husband.

I have been told that most Indian TVs are multisystem ( pal and ntsc compliant) and hence a camcorder bought in the US can be connected to an Indian TV. Is this true?

I don't have the camcorder that was used to record these tapes. Though I have important home movies I am trying to get on a DVD, or VHS to burn to DVD. Is there something I can purchase to convert the DV into a VHS or DVD.

I don't have a digital camera. The tape is a Sony LP 90, 60 min. Do stores such as Walmart, Longs Drugs, etc. have this feature of converting videos into DVD's? Thank you for the help! =)

So I am going to by a camcorder that tapes on to mini dv's. I was wondering, is there like a VHS that you can place the mini DV in and be able to watch it from a VHS player? I know they have those when the video cameras were big and bulky, but I was wondering if they still made them and where can I buy on?

Hopefully you know what I'm talking about so you can help me! THanky Thanky!
