My video camera's tape door won't close. Why?

I have a Panasonic PV-D203D whose door refuses to close.

either the tape has been put in the wrong way or there is a wire pluged in from cam corder to computer which refuses to make this function to work..

try to have cam not connected to anything else..and then try.

The tape might be the wrong one or you might have put it in the wrong way.
