consumer reports says the motorola e815 is a great idea (i think the information may be from a year ago.) i was about to buy the e815 from amazon and they sold out. i'm curious, is the e815 an older model number. should i still try and find it somewhere else or does anyone have a better idea? i am going to switch over to verizon in l.a., so the phone would have to be one that goes with a verizon plan. thanks so much for your help.

Just bought one of these and have set it all up as per the manual but sometimes when we change the channel over the screen goes blank and then comes back with a different sized screen. We try and have it set on 16:9 but it just sets itself to a smaller screen. Even when we change it back for some reason after an advert break it resets to the smaller size again. It's weird! Are we doing something wrong? Have tried to consult the manual but can't seem to find it in there.

Okay, I'm ignorant with electronics, so here goes... I got a new HD Plasma, so I simply connected my DirectTV cable box up to the plasma. Will the HD work automatically or do I need to adjust some settings to turn on the HD? Also, when I change the component from TV to HDMI setting, the screen just turns black, and I'm unable to change channels. I'm still having to use the old remote from the old t.v. to change channels. How can I switch over and use the plasma remote universally? Thanks and sorry for the stupid questions:)

Hi there, I have a onkyo ht- sr800 AV receiver as well as the onkyo DVD. I have plug cables as follow:
AV receiver:
- HDMI out -> TV HDMI-in
- DVD HDMI out -> AV receiver HDMI1 in
- DVD digital audio out -> AV receiver Digital in 1
- DVD Video-out(yellow) -> AV receiver DVD video-in(yellow)
- DVD Audio-out (red/white) -> AV receiver DVD audio-in(red/white)

I did the receiver/setup/video input/dvd hdmi1 steps, but my LCD (1080p) says "Incompatible mode", but if I connect my dvd hdmi out directly to my lcd hdmi input then it works.

can anyone help me here, I need to get my HT-SR800 HDMI output work.

When I go into the browser of my PS3, I can view available demos but I can't download them straight from the browser.
So, I was wondering. Do I have to edit something in the network options to allow downloading from the default homepage? Or do I have to go to the Playstation store category and get the demos from there? If I do have to get them from there, do they cost money?

It's between a Cannon SD1000, an Olympus FE-280, or a Nikon Coolpix L14. The Cannon is the most expensive, but i dont know how good the coolpix or olympus is.

i plan on buying a portable recording studio and all of them say they store files onto a flash card that gets it onto the computer. what is a flash card and how do you get files off of it to the computer? some of them also say theyll use a usb instead, but if i use one, wil i need some sort of program on my comp for it to work?

I dont know whats wrong with it.I have a fan blowing into it and its as cool as its ever going to be. But when i play more than 45 minutes the thing shuts off. I dont know if its the new update i installed or what but its def not the heat. Anyone knows wats going on? i installed update 2.01..... there is no auto shut off under settings.......and it doesnt turn off b/c of the heat...i dont get the red light or anything...it just turns off

I have a 360 add-on for my HD-DVD player. I was wondering about the option to "force DTS". When "display" is pressed on the remote, you can choose between Dolby 2.0, DD, DTS, or WMA(?).

So what happens when the add-on turns a dolby track into a DTS track?

I have tried it out and had mixed results.

Wondering if someone had a definitive answer.

So i put the movie in thinking "gosh what fun, a HD action movie that i love and cant wait to see again" when the disc wont load. So i go on to the samsung website and find out that i can update my dvd player. so i do that. did exactly what was said, and it worked the way it said it should.
so i put the disc back in and it still wont load. but the number 1 and word slideshow appear on the little panel on the player...

so i put an old dvd in to make sure the dvd player wasnt screwy. worked fine. the number 2 and the word slideshow appeared.

then i put the HD disc in and it started to play, but the dvd player would disconnect as it played "no signal" etc.

what the hell is going on....?

I have an HD tv with an HDMI input, the outlet on my digital cable box is an ilink (sony) IEEE 1394 type. Is the 4 pin to 6 pin ilink cable going to fit the HDMI socket? I cant seem to find anything online that confirms that the IEEE 1394 and HDMI are basically the same thing. It looks to me like they are, I just want to be sure. cheers.
