People say there not much difference between them, but in terms of blue ray movies, will the difference be present? I know a 1080i can play blue ray, but will there be a difference?

oh I meant like, if I have a blu-ray source and player, and am in the market for a new TV

should I go the extra bit for the 1080p? Or settle with a 1080i

I'm pretty much just looking to get the best out of my Blu-ray, but i'll settle for not-the-best if I can't notice the difference

You won't notice the difference between 1080i and 1080P transmission..

Just get 1080 Native Display Resolution....that's all it has to be for best picture....

BD players can play at 480i, 480p, 1080i, or 1080p.

Either 1080i or 720p will look great on your 720p HDTV.
