I want to make mixed cds from the cds that I own. I have a laptop macbook, is there software I need to buy? Or I am better off just buying a cd recorder?

It's quite sad... lol! But I was recieving a text, and the screen went white, so I turned it off then back on, and the buttons light up... but the screen doesn't work... :-(

I see that they dont have a sim card, so how can i switch. I have 2 US cellular phones, and I like my old one better. Can I just switch it with out going to the store?

i smashed the screen out & now i cant see what im taking pictures of. olympus gave me an estimate to fix it but its not worth it. Id rather buy brand new if i cant get a cheap solution.

I really would like to get a good "point and shoot" style camera that does the whole "point and shoot" part really well. I'm not interested in SLR's or the features of all this other stuff.. I want to take simple pictures that come out crisp and clear, not blurry for any reason. I'd also like one between $100-$200...

Have any suggestions? I'm not biased on brand, but I have had turddy luck with Sony.

I really want a digital camera that has a GOOD macro facility as all the ones I've had in the past have been useless. Want to be able to take very close up photos of plants and butterflies etc. Can you recommend a make and model to go for or at least tell me what I should be looking for when buying a camera, other than the tulip symbol.

I am trying to build a low budget home theature. I bought a cheap receiver that came with speakers that have wires hardwired to the speakers which of course are not long enough. I have miles of telephone cable left over from an old tivo. I want to cut the telephone cable up, merge it with the too short speaker cable using a few twists and electrical tape, and run it to my cheap receiver. Will this kill my already flat sound quality?

I shoot indoor photography for hockey and I'm looking for a faster lens. I can't decide between the 20-70, or the 70-200. I also shoot outdoor football games from time to time. I have a 70-300mm lens with IS (f/4.5) and it does well enough, but I'd like the faster lens. Any suggestions on which is best for indoor sports with poor lighting?

I am going to get a new digital SLR camera from either Dell or Best Buy. I currently have a 5.0 mp Canon A95. I guess you could say I am a beginner so I need a camera that is easy and user friendly. I have been researching SLR's for a while, and have all but decided to purchase the Nikon D40, because it got stellar reviews from various places, and was well spoken of here on Y!A.

In talking with a photographer friend the other night, she suggested that I spend the (roughly) extra $150 for the D40X. The only difference, it seems to me, are megapixels (6.1 vs 10.2), and a fraction of shutter speed increase. The only advantage I could see to higher megapixels is if I decided to print the photos and display them in a larger frame (which is a possibility, should I capture a great shot).

An extra $150 is within my budget, but if it's something not worth bothering with, then I don't want to spend it. Any advice from SLR experts is appreciated.
