Some of the Sharp Aquos LCD's are known to exhibit some screen banding. If you have a set that doesn't have it initially, is it something that can eventually develop on your screen?

Banding is due to the lower resolution (bit-depth) of LCDs (8 bits). You can manipulate the color processing to reduce it, but you either have it or not. If you develop it, then something is wrong with the TV.
