The question will only apply if you have the same person in both phone books, i.e., with the same name both on the memory card's phone book and the SIM's phone book.
If you choose 'overwrite', then the entry on the SIM card will be erased and replaced with the one from the memory card.
If you choose 'merge', the phone will attempt to combine them. For example, if they have different phone numbers then the new entry will typically have both phone numbers.
If you seldom put any data in the SIM's phonebook and its pretty much empty, then it won't matter.

Merge will add the the contacts from both sim cards together. Overwrite will put only the contacts from one sim card onto the other.

Each phone is different, but usually Merge makes a new entry for every item being broung from one to the other, where Overwrite will not allow for duplicates. I prefer the Merge, and then I can go through and edit the list, getting rid of the duplicates myself. I like the more hands on feel of managing my numbers so they are not lost.

If you merge them, then whatever it is in your sim will not duplicate on your phone, if you overwrite it, it means that all contacts will be moved to your sim....the overwriting means that if there is a duplicate of contact in your sim and the phone, it will just be left with one.

Thunderbolt is the utmost modern-day and maximum astounding for Verizon. I even have the unique Droid and in basic terms dumped it for Virgin cellular's new Motorola Triumph. this is no longer as beefed up because of the fact the Thunderbolt or Bionic, even though it holds this is very own. and that i now pay $35/month somewhat of $a hundred/month to Verizon. And for $35/month, it has infinite information and text cloth cloth. Watch this guy indoors the YouTube link under:
