Software - December 2007

Im used to web designing using HTML. However their seems to be some popularity with PSD websites whenever you search for web templates.

What am i meant to do with these?

I have Adobe Photoshop but why would i use a Image editing program to change the text on a website.

This is really puzzling me?

Can someone give me a brief description of why these are used and why they are PSD files..

Example, how would i make a hyperlink :/

there is a software that i had downloaded similar to bicomet, and I want to delete it. however the uninstall option that it came with did not work so I couldn't uninstall it the correct way.

Then I opened my control panel "add/remove software" and that particular software did not show up so I just deleted all the files. Now it's poping up like crazy and is preventing me from opening my internet explore, after 10 tries I finally open my internet explore.

So how do I get rid of it? Any helpful comments is very much appreciated, thank you.

When I open tabs in internet explorer, after a while of opening and closing tabs, the new tabs will not have the "file edit view, etc" menus. I am using Vista so I'm not sure that has anything to do with it. What is causing this to happen and how do I fix it?

I just bought a new laptop and had to change all the settings to english. I did this and yet Microsoft Works 8 is still coming up in french, I can't figure out how to change to english, does anyone know how?

Lucky for me a program that I downloaded "Instant Reg Scanner"

that would always run at start up had an uninstall option in its folder.
But, before I found that out I did the following with no good results.

I ran regedit
It was not in the registry services .

I removed all Run and Run once keys that had that program's name.

There were only two values.

In Msconfig I removed the program from the start up menu

But, after I restarted my XP computer

not only did this annoying program start again.

It was back in Msconfig and the two values were back in the

the run and run once hives. of the registry

How can this happen?
I thought that run ,run once and services are the only places in

the registry where a program can be made to run at startup.

I am doing a powerpoint presentation on a book we had to read in school...now, we have to present, but the teacher said that if the book has a movie version, she told us that we could put the trailer on the powerpoint...I found the trailer of the movie in several places like youtube and other places...how do I put it in the powerpoint??? urgent!

I am planning on installing Vista 64bit on my new `puter.It has an AMD dual core 6000+/ASUS mainboard...Right now I am running XP Pro,but my memory is limited to 3GB in a 32bit system. I am looking to break into the sci-fi/fantasy book cover world, plus computer games (covers and concept designs) as well as album art work and comic book covers. whenever i attempt to open word 2000 the process will start but then freezes with nothing opening up.Even the files i had in word 2000 doesn't seem to exist. Do i have to reboot this program to make it work and if so can i do it within my computor?

I uninstalled McAFee from my computer because I applyied for a free trial and it expired so I had to uninstall it after I got avast antivirus and then my internet explorer is either sooo slow or quit working on me. does this happen to anyone and can anyone help me?

I know that I already asked this question but I still can't find anything at all on the old game shapes.
I did find out however that it came out around the time of Windows 3x and was on a floppy disk.
Basically in this game you make pictures by manipulating different shapes around. The shapes make things like Stoplights, Icecream cones, cars, and my favourite- a women who you could change the colour of her eyes and skin and lips and hair ect. The shapes were different colours and the screen background was always black.

The graphics would be horrible compared to now but I know how much I loved that game when I was younger and I just want to be able to remember more of it. If anyone knows anything about this game or has any links to where I can find out more or possible buy the game Shapes it would be very much appriciated!!!

I'm new to MACs and I can't get my photoshop disc of my microsoft office disc to load up the installer.

Everytime I click on one of the setup files I get the message:

"there is no default application specified to open...."

It's driving me mad!

HELP!

P.S I've been told I can use these on a MAC

I have not used internet explorer for two months (since October) now (been on a ship cruising the Pacific) and from what　I can last recalｌ it worked fine before I left.

When ever I try to run internet explorer I get nothing; no browser, no error message, no nothing. I have tried to run it as an administrator, but got the same response.

I have also tried doing a system restore back 2 months, but I always get the same message that there was an error during the system restore and it could not be completed. My desktop looks like it was restored to 2 months ago, but internet explorer still doesnt work!

The internet connectivity does work though and I was able to use it to update several programs, but any link that opens an IE browser will not work.

The only thing I have done really since it last worked was update some programs and also several window updates.

Also the news feed in my sidebar wont update.

Any help would be great! Are there any virsuses that can cause this?

I am trying to make my background a layer and it says in the instructions to click the background twice in the layer pallette to unlock it. Whenever I click it twice though, it doesn't unlock it.

Instead of it saying "background" on the layer pallett, it says "Index".

If you could please help me out, that would really be great.

i know how to make it start at a certain time but is there a way of making it stop at a certain time too?
