I want a viewer to be able to zoom a picture on my website? Hope you can help.

Almost all Photo Editing software has the capability to Zoom a picture in and out. before you post the picture on a web site. If you want to be able to zoom the image after it is posted then we are talking something completly different and requires different capability.

Most Web designers use a small thumbnail image for fast web page loading, with a link to a larger image. Both images must be in a folder on the Host Server.

Find any website that uses this technique and click on the View Tab > Page Source (in Firefox) to see the HTML code they used to create the effect you want. Then, copy & Paste...

You are talking about cropping and/or resizing.

You can do that with microsoft paint (comes free with Windows) but you will probably not get great results.

Otherwise, any image editing software should do those basic things.

Go to www.irfanview.com and download the irfanview program there. It's free and is a good program for this.
