You can pirate just about any software (or anything else for that matter) from torrent sites.
They usually come with a key generator, patch, crack, etc. and instructions on how to install.
Not legal of course, but technically neither is recording songs of the radio.

If you are looking for free as in beer, Nero is a commercial software. You can look for some other alternative, typical data burning can be done with windows XP itself.
