Ok. So I just read a question about a slow starting computer. One answer was to do a MSCONFIG. Please know that this could potentially mess up your computer if you disable the wrong thing. Some of the older windows os had it setup where it actually listed the items that were actually needed to run windows in the msconfig area. I can not count the times I've had to repair a really bad MSCONFIG. I just feel that it would be terrible if the questioner would have ruined his pc over bad advise. So my question is: You do realize some people are not so sure when they answer.....right? Just checking. -Shell

Is it me? Or is Vista a load of rubbish??
I have a HP ipaq 2490b os5.0 which will not syc with Vista windows mail, calender, or anything useful on Vista. Been told by Microsoft to export calender to Outlook and syc with that _ Superb!! Also Vista will not find / recognise my DVD burner, tried all the usual ie scan for hardware changes, update drivers etc (drivers ok by the way for some thing that doesn't exist) and short of throwing the pc out of the window I am at a loss!!

Does anyone have any ideas that might be able to get me to sync with my ipaq the programmes on Vista, and anyway to be able to find my dvd burner? Also does Microsoft have any plans to issue a sp to deal with these (and many other) problems with Vista?

Many thanks for any help you may be able to give me.

This is my problem:
I have changed the standardprogram to open .Ifo - files from "unknown" to "adobe acrobat" by mistake. And now I want to change that back again to unknown. i have microsoft windows xp

does anyone know how....please help

I downloaded a torrent and it was in like 60 parts. Half of the parts are .rar files and the other half are just files. They are numbered 0-60 something. Inside of the .rar files are iso parts and the others are just files with the extension .sfv How do i combine the .sfv files with the iso parts that are in the .rar files?

you know those Life Touch pics how they are prfessional pics, i recieved my graduation pics and it has their big logo liek rigth acrosss my face on the pic and to ge the copies without the logo you know u have to pay to get the real copies im wondering is ther a possible way not buyin to remove it from the pic not the exact exact pic thats impossible but like copy it to comp. scanner or something using a software, buying it is WAAYY TO expensive on like 3 pics ill be spending like $100

I got request from both companies.

Microsoft wants me to work on their Microsoft Surface research team. I'll be researching on implementations of Surface for future OS's, or something like that. They were vague.

I get paid $75,000+

Apple wants me to work on their G5 team. I will kind of work on helping customers with problems on their G5 computers, and that's about it.

I get paid $59,000 plus.

So which company should I work for? I heard that people that work at MS are pretty happy. I don't hear much about work ethic at Apple though.

I like both companies as well. They both make good products that I use.

I like Microsoft for it's Zune 80, and Office 07'. Apple for it's Mac hardware.

So which company do you think I should work at? I have until Friday to deicde.

I have a logo where there is a teal outline around logo. I want to replace the teal with black, but I want to make sure the cells that are lighter shades of teal will be replaced with the appropriate shade of gray so that when the logo is placed in an image the lines will maintain a smooth appearance.

The image is a 72 dpi gif to start with. It's going to be placed in a 150 dpi image. I know I want to change it to RGB color and increase the resolution to 150 dpi. What else should I do?

Is Microsoft Office 07' good?

I heard they changed the UI, so is it any more better to use? Or is it worse?

Is it more harder to do stuff? Or more easier? What do you think?

I plan on purchasing Office 07', for many tasks like documents, presentation slides, spreadsheets, databases, e-mail, etc. So I'm curious.

It's not a money issue- it's whether it's good or not. So what do you think? Is Office 07' a good productivity suite?

Someone sent it to me once, but I have since lost the website. I'm now using Word Pad which came with my computer, but I don't really care for it. It's tied in with Word 2007, and I don't like the way the documents look. At the end of January, the free trial verson of Word 2007 ends, and I'll have to pay for it if I want to keep it, but I really don't like it. Does anyone know about the free WP program?

Ok... so i have already made my presentation with my music. When i play the presentation on my computer, th emusic i pu ton it plays. I copied the presentation onto a blank Cd played it but the music doesnt seem to be playing. Is there anyway i can make the music play in the presentation on a CD without messing up it! Please give step by step instructions.

Ohh and i am a dummy when it comes to this so make it make sense!

I have a HP Pavilion dv6000 with Vista that I would like to sell. How do I wipe my hard drive clean of all personal information, files, and programs? I don't think I have any of the discs the computer came with, but I don't know it that's necessary to clean the hard drive. I have also installed Microsoft Office 2007... is there any way to keep this program and all other programs essential to the functioning of the computer while erasing all of my personal information? Is there anywhere I could/should take my computer to get my hard drive wiped or can I do it myself?

I had adobe photoshop elements 2.0 for windows xp and it worked fine then i got a new vista computer and adobe photo didn't work. I don't no if there is a update that will alow me to have it work on vista and i don't want to buy a new version for vista. Tell me about a update if there is one.
