I'm not sure it can be done successfully. I wanted to do the same thing, but I was advised against downgrading. The process is probably to delete Vista and download XP, but it may not work with some of the programs that are already on your computer that are compatible only with Vista. Then you'd have to downgrade them, as well. Personally, I think it would be more of a hassle than it's worth. I don't exactly love Vista either, but I guess I'll have to live with it. Also, you might keep in mind that eventually XP will become obsolete, just as Win 98 did, and you won't be able to get any tech support for it. I went directly from 98 to Vista, bypassing XP altogether, since Vista was already installed on my new computer. Gosh, I wonder what Microsoft will come up with next --maybe computer screens on the dashboard of cars? You think?
