This is my problem:
I have changed the standardprogram to open .Ifo - files from "unknown" to "adobe acrobat" by mistake. And now I want to change that back again to unknown. i have microsoft windows xp
does anyone know how....please help

Try system restore, it works for a lot of problems on the computer

Absolutely DO NOT try System Restore. That's a last resort.
Right click on any IFO file, and say "open with..." (The actual terms may differ slightly, I'm on my Mac), choose "no program" or something like that, and check the box that says "do this for all files of this type."

Go to start, settings, control panel, folder options, file types. Then go down list to the file type ifo and then click on the Change button. It will let you put in the right answer and the problem will be solved quickly.

IFO,is a dvd movie info file,you can open the file with the media player you use to play your dvd's.try associating this kind of file that you use to play your dvd by default so that widows will know what kind of program to use to open this kind of file.

right click an .Ifo file and go to "open with" then go to "choose program" then perhaps its in there?

yes my guess would either be system restore or reinstalling windows.
