I would like a free program that will allow me to save the positions of icons in Windows Vista (I have tried many, but none work because they are not made to be used on Vista).

I have a virus protector and only plan to download videos and/or music. I've seen that .exe files bring viruses but I dont plan on downloading them. If I just download it and dont download exe only video and music will that slow down my computer?

Also can someone post a link to download it please.

Hi. I'm trying to install Medieval War II: Total War on a brand new supercomp that runs vista(unfortunatelly) and it crashes at medieval2.exe. I get the following error message: Data Error(cyclic redundancy check) and the installation process gets terminated.

I should also note that sometimes it goes beyound medieval2.exe only to crash at another file giving the same error. Has anyone had this problem before? Does anyone know how to fix this?

I just removed a virus from my computer with Spybot Search & Destroy and every time I open a program, I get this message. http://i13.tinypic.com/6l99zd2.jpg


Except instead of it saying "iTunes.exe", it says the program name followed by .exe

I already restarted it since the virus was removed and I need a little help of how I can get rid of this message opening everytime I open a program. I just click on "Ok" and it goes away, but this shouldn't be popping up every time. Thanks in advance.

Hi, Is there a free way to read .dbx files without having to take the time (and the money) to buy a program online? I was trying to find an e-mail message on a Norton 360 backup disc I made but I can't view it without whatever program reads dbx files. Any ideas? I sort of need that e-mail soon and I don't know if I order software how long that would take, and I was hoping there was a faster (hopefully free) solution. If anyone can help that would be a major help to me. I don't even know what a dbx file is. Thanks.

Does anyone know a good antivirus software which is free, and doesnt give me any spyware whatever or lag up or slow up my computer. I prefer something like norton, but its totally free and good at blocking viruses, i dont want AVG lol. Anyone know anything free and official?

I just got a brand new computer, its running windows vista home premium. its an asus g2s-b1 laptop. anyways it just wont download the files. I can download programs like aim and firefox but nooo cant do a windows update... what the hell is wrong here?

I have a PC running Windows XP and WIndows Live One Care. A few days ago I uninstalled the free version of Lavasoft Ad-Aware and installed the 2007 version. After updated the definitions, I ran a scan. I came back 4.5 hours later and found the program frozen on "scanning folders (conditional)" I re-ran the scan and the same thing happened. (Although the clock on the program conditinued to run.)
Any thoughts on how to fix this? Thanks in advance.

iTunes has been being reallly stupid for me. my old ipod nano got stollen a few months ago ,and i got a new one for christmas.
and it's not letting me do anything with it... like it's saying i have to download the new iTunes, but it's not letting me. i'm the computer admin. so that's not the problem.
i tryed downloading it multiple times and still... it just getts to the end and then like says NO. stopping or whatever.

and now i'm trying to import CD's on becuase i just went to best buy, and it's saying " the current encoder settings for bit rate are sample rate and are not valid for this file".
what does that mean?
it used to let me always import.

i don't know what to do.
i'm really lost, someone please help me.
