Saving icon positions in Vista?

Question

I would like a free program that will allow me to save the positions of icons in Windows Vista (I have tried many, but none work because they are not made to be used on Vista).

What I mean is I want to have a program that will save the order in which the icons are set in and if they get jumbled to restore them to the last time they were saved.

"...save the positions of icons..."...not sure what you're talking about. But if you think that you can't arrange icons in your way?
Position pointer on your Desktop, right click, under View uncheck Auto Arrange.
Is that what you meant?
