How do i change the VLC Media player skin?

Tried the following,but it keeps going back to default interface /skin .

Here's what it says on the VideoLan site:

"place it in the skins subfolder of your VLC installation:

* Windows users: Put it in C:\Program Files\VideoLAN\VLC\skins"
