My mom just called me very upset because my fool of a father lost his patience and formatted the computer hard drive because "it wasnt working" This is a Win XP Home system

We lost all the pictures (thousands) and files we had saved on there of my now deceased cousin. Please tell me there is a way I can do a data recovery and get most of these pictuers back. In the past I sent away the drive and it cost me about 400 bucks.. Is there any software I could use myself that would get just as muhc back as if I sent it away and get these pictures back for my mother... Thank you for your help and advice

Well i need ImageReady, and i have photoshop, i actually bought it at office depo for like a hundred bucks, omg tax was expensive, and i just found out that i need imageready to do something i wanted to do, well i bought elements 5.0 only one i could afford, and it doesnt have it, ive googled it, but its only the update to 1.0.1 anybody have any ideas of where i can download it, or buy it. Thanks.

If I install Vista I was thinking about splitting my harddrive, say 65gb each partition... then installing Vista on both. is this a good idea?
Should I just make one partition that's like 80% of the HDD space and then leave the rest unpartitioned (or should I partition it) just in case?
What's the best situation here

Vista allows you to install/activate it on two computers (well one, and then on another later if you upgrade or get a newone or something.. license transfer and whatnot)

If I install/activate it on two partitions will that just count as one computer?

when i turn on my computer, it loads regularly but then the screen turns to the BSOD (black screen of death) and this is what i get:

i've asked this ? before and i only get replies to links to midi to mps converters and every other kinda converter but not MP# to MIDI. i have a mp3 editing program that i use to make MPS ringtones but they are all round 200 top 300kb per ringtone per the segment i cut from the track and that takes up hella memory on my cell phone and i'm only able to use around 6 ringtones at a time the rest i gotta store in my memory card in phone. my phone memory is full and i wanna find a way for free to maybe compress the mp3's or convert them to midi tho i know the quality wont be quite as good as mp3 wit midi i still wanna do this. i wanna be able to use more ringtones at one time on my phone memopry is all.

When I select a range of cells in Excel 2007 they are surrounded by a border, but not highlighted. As I tab through them, I can't tell which is the active cell. Help - this is driving me crazy!!

I have Windows Vista installed. I never activated it yet because I borrowed this copy from a friend. I've been doing the slgmr -rearm but I used all 8 up already. Someone told me I could reinstall Windows safely and get more time. Is that true and if so, will I lose any files or have any problems?
